New Terminal F of Boryspil Airport, Ukraine, designed for international flights, charters and low-cost flights were not open neither in April nor on the 24th of August at the Ukraine Independence Day, as it was scheduled before. Miss Universe Contest, one of the most prestigious events in the field of beauty contest took place on 23 August 2010 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, US. Miss Mexico 22-year-old Jimena Navarrete from Guadalajara, was crowned Miss Universe 2010, giving her home country its second-ever Miss Universe title and replacing last year’s winner, Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.
Miss Jamaica, Miss Australia, Miss Ukraine and Miss Philippines were the other runners-up. 23-year-old Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps came in second, 19-year-old Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell ended as third runners-up. Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska came in fourth, while top favorite Miss Philippines Venus Raj came in fifth, making it the stunning Miss Universe 2010 Top 5 contestants.
23 year old Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska (Poslavskaya in Russian) is from Nova Kakhovka, Kherson oblast. She was born on 28 April, 1987. Her height is 180 santimeters (5 ft 11 in) and her bust, waist, and hips inflection points are 90 – 62 – 90 santimeters accordingly. Her eyes are blue and her hair is brown. Anna became Ukraine’s highest placement and the third Miss Ukraine in history to reach the semi-finals.

The 13th International Festival “Kyiv Summer Music Evenings” will start on May 30. It will run every wekend till July, 11th. The Festival is held on the summer stage of the Central Park of Culture and Rest.
Alyosha (real name Olena Kucher, born on May 14th, 1986 in Zaporizhzhya), Ukraine’s participant in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, successfully presented her song Sweet People in the second Semi-Final. She rocked the place with a powerful expressive covering a range of no less than four octaves vocal performance of her melancholic song, the key message of which is environmental protection.
On May 29th, celebrations of All Ukraine Bicycle Day (Veloden’) will take place in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. During this day, the center of Kyiv, starting from the European Square, will become a human chain of thousands of cyclists. The celebration program of the day will be full of events and guests.
The festival of rockabilly & psychobilly culture “Ukrabilly Vybuh!” will be held in Kyiv Bingo club on April 24-25th, 2010. The festival will be held for the sixth time, and it will gather 16 bands from Ukraine and other countries on stage.
It looks like this year Kyivans and guests of the Ukrainian capital will not be able to see traditional barrels with kvass on city streets.
On Sunday, March 28th, the so-called “Daylight Saving Time” will be introduced on the territory of Ukraine at 3 pm Kyiv time. All clocks have to be adjusted forward one hour, so we will “lose” one hour.
Daylight Saving Time (or summer time as it is called in many countries) is a way of getting more light out of the day by advancing clocks by one hour during the summer.

Yesterday, on the 25th of February, 2010 Viktor Yanukovych was inaugurated Ukraine president. He has been sworn in as the country’s fourth leader since it gained independence.
This spring the city plans to begin reconstruction of Andrew’s descent. The fate of the street and the time of its reconstruction have already been discussed at the City Hall.
