Yesterday, on the 25th of February, 2010 Viktor Yanukovych was inaugurated Ukraine president. He has been sworn in as the country’s fourth leader since it gained independence.
Boryspil Airport is planning to open a new Terminal F, designed for international flights, already in April this year. Now the terminal B is fulfilling this function.
Its total capacity should be a half thousand people per hour.
This spring the city plans to begin reconstruction of Andrew’s descent. The fate of the street and the time of its reconstruction have already been discussed at the City Hall.
In Kyiv, several observation areas have been equipped with special units, which allow Kyiv residents and the guests of the Ukrainian capital to view the panorama of the city.
In particular, viewing areas near the Arch of Friendship and the Monument to the Holodomor Victims (near Lavra) will allow tourists to enjoy the city panorama with the help of telescopes.
The biggest Ukrainian Flower Clock will start ticking again approximately in April, 2010 near the Independence Square, on Instytutska Sreet. A competition for the best design of the clock has already begun. For example, one of the ideas is to put in the center of the dial the logo of Euro 2012 (a soccer ball with two flowers).
On January 28, users who tried to use services of I-Box payment terminals discovered, that the money they’ve sent via I-Box didn’t reach accounts of service providers. Considering the fact, that lots of money go through these payment terminals, including the replenishment of mobile phone credits and repayment of bank loans, people began to panic.
