Tricks in Ukrainian restaurants or how they make you spend more money

One cold but nice evening we’ve decided to have our dinner at one of the top restaurants / night clubs in Kyiv. Being not sure about the crowd, we called to reserve a table, but they’ve turned us down saying, that it was impossible. Ok, whatever, we agreed to give it a try anyway. We’ve got there not too late and managed to get a table in the lounge area. A pretty girl was singing and aslo playing sax, creating an absolutely wonderful atmosphere. Our waiter knew his job and we’ve been anticipating a great evening.

A giant watermelon was grown in Kherson region

43kg watermelon in Gola Prystan, Kherson region

During the traditional festival “Ukrainian watermelon is a sweet miracle” held in Gola Prystan, Kherson region, farmers presented a giant watermelon that weighs 43 kilograms and 100 grams – 94.8 lbs (the largest in the history of the festival! ), a melon that weighs 7.9 kilograms – 17.4 lbs and a 53.4 – 117.5 lbs kilograms pumpkin.

By the way, this year watermelon champion came from the same farmer as the last year’s winner of 38kg. Yuri Pokotilov, the “watermelon king” said, that he hasn’t got any other secrets in growing such huge berries, except the love to his work.
