Ukrainian Unity Day (Den Sobornosti) is an important historical event in Ukraine. It goes back to the date when Eastern and Western Ukraine were united. On this day in 1919 the “Treaty of Unity” between Ukrainians was signed and the unity of all Ukrainian lands previously belonging to the Russian Empire (UNR) and the Austro-Hungarian Empire was solemnly proclaimed on Sofijivska Square in Kyiv.

High-speed trains will be launched between Lviv and Kyiv in spring 2012. New Terminal F of Boryspil Airport, Ukraine, designed for international flights, charters and low-cost flights were not open neither in April nor on the 24th of August at the Ukraine Independence Day, as it was scheduled before. Miss Mexico 22-year-old Jimena Navarrete from Guadalajara, was crowned Miss Universe 2010.
