There will be a new modern terminal built in Zhulyany airport in Kyiv, Ukraine by 2012. Its capacity is going to be 320 passangers per hour. Old terminal will be rebuilt as well.
Ukraine is among leaders of people killed in car accidents. “According to Forbs, Russia takes the first place of the number of people killed in road accident in 2008, and Ukraine takes the second one. There are 167 deaths per 1,000,000 (7690 deaths in total last year) in Ukraine, and there are 235 in Russia.

In order to reduce pressure on hryvnia rate the National Bank of Ukraine decided to impose a ban on foreign currency credits in Ukraine. Bankers discussed such aspects with NBU during their closed meeting on Friday, 4th September.

Kyiv Municipal Administration and the Southwestern Railroad have launched operation of electric ( commuter ) trains between train stations “Troeschina” (Horodnia) and “Kyiv-Petrivka” in Kyiv on the 2nd September, 2009. This will enable residents of the Troeschyna district to travel to the Petrovka subway station faster and more comfortably.

For all those, who is still thinking to have a ride by Funicular (funikuler) in Kyiv, Ukraine, we recommed to hurry up. On the 1st of September it will be closed. Kyivpastrans representatives say that Funicular will be closed only for its regular annual maintenance and will be reopened in a month. Specialists will check the mechanism and its details and replace parts if needed. They say it will take not more than one month, but if they find more serious problems, it might take longer.

Leon Larkin, the general manager of the Intercontinental hotel informed the journalists about the Hotel opening.
