Museum on a submarine will appear in Kyiv

A real submarine SS-130 will be brought to Kyiv from Kherson, where a museum complex called “Peremoga” (Victory) dedicated to naval topics will be created. This submarine was given to Ukraine as a gift by Russia in 2000.

There will be a “Park of the Soviet era in Kyiv”

Kyiv authorities are going to choose one of the parks in the Ukrainian capital, where monuments of the Soviet era will be placed. For this purpose they offer a park of Alexander Pushkin. It is suggested to place monuments in sectors, which will display different periods of the Soviet history.

On the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks, October 14, 2009, the march of OUN UPA is planned to be held in Kyiv under the slogan “Bandera is our hero! Pokrova is our holiday!”. It will start at 3pm near the monument of Taras Shevchenko. At the end of the march there will be a concert where leading Ukrainian rock groups will take part.

On Wednesday morning, 8th October, nearly all left bank of Kyiv was in smoke. A burn smell could be felt even in Posnyaki district. The fire has started on sludge fields of Bortnychi Aeration Station where sewage is cleaned (near Gnedin village, Boryspil district, Kyiv region).

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine defined the winner of tender for producing a new truck to transport prisoners. Tender competition was announced in the framework of Ukrainian preparations for EURO-2012. Ukrainian militia (police) is afraid that European football fans, in case of detention, will not be satisfied with the Ukrainian cars for prisoners, which Ukrainian militia has inherited since Soviet Union times.
