Tricks in Ukrainian restaurants or how they make you spend more money

One cold but nice evening we’ve decided to have our dinner at one of the top restaurants / night clubs in Kyiv. Being not sure about the crowd, we called to reserve a table, but they’ve turned us down saying, that it was impossible. Ok, whatever, we agreed to give it a try anyway. We’ve got there not too late and managed to get a table in the lounge area. A pretty girl was singing and aslo playing sax, creating an absolutely wonderful atmosphere. Our waiter knew his job and we’ve been anticipating a great evening.

Dnipropetrovsk is no longer a city with a population of 1 million

DnipropetrovskDnipropetrovsk is no longer a city with a population of 1 million inhabitants. As of March 1, 2011, a permanent population of Dnipropetrovsk is not more than one million people, according to the report of the Main Statistical Office.

As of March 1, 2011, total city population is only 6 thousand residents over 1 million, but the number of permanent residents of Dnipropetrovsk is not more than 996 thousand (according to dnepr.info).

This decline in population is due to a negative birth rate and migration.

In January-February 2011, one thousand and a half people left Dnipropetrovsk, which is 300 people more than those, who has arrived.

During the same period, the index of natural population growth was also negative. In two months 1625 children were born in Dnipropetrovsk, but mortality rates have reached the number of 2318.
