Al-Bader Trading Co Group of Companies is studying Ukrainian legislation with an intent to possibly invest in the construction of the new city on an area of about 900 hectares in about 30-100 kilometers from Kiev. It was informed by the Deputy General Director Mahrous Besiso at the Ukrainian-Arab conference in Kyiv.
“Currently we are studying the legislation of Ukraine to see to which extent it meets our standards (…) If we find it is possible to start such a project and the legal system will suit us, we are ready to invest any amount of money without limitation. It will be the city with high buildings, with villas on the area of 9 million sq. km. m. Usually, we prefer to build similar projects at a distance of 30 km to 100 km from the capital, “- said Mahrous Besiso, noting that the Group is primarily interested in land and tax laws of Ukraine, as well as issues related to the issuance of Ukrainian visas to Arab citizens.
According to Besiso a similar project has already been implemented in Sudan on the area of 900 hectares.
Deputy General Director of the Group has also noted that in the case of a positive decision of launching this project in Ukraine, construction will be handled by Ukrainian companies.
Also Besiso noted that Al-Bader Group is interested in the possibility of investing not only in construction but also in the metallurgical industry and health tourism in Ukraine.

Al-Bader Group was founded in 1962 as a consortium of companies owned by a Kuwaiti family, and it was renamed Al-Bader Trading Co. W.L.L. in 1976.
The Group is engaged in such industries as telecommunications and IT-technology, construction, insurance, tourism, healthcare, scientific and medical equipment, etc.
