Kyiv airport “Boryspil” is closed until 12:00 for technical reasons. Problems began in the morning, UNIAN reports.
At 4 am airport website reported about a delay of only three flights, but already at 04:30 information on the delay of over two dozen flights (from 14:00 to 16:00) has appeared on the airport display.
An hour later, at 05:30, there was an announcement about airport closure until 07:00. However, later, the possible opening time of the airport has been extended twice.
Airport services don;t say much and don’t give any details.
There are a lot of people in “Boryspil” waiting for their departure.
Note, yesterday late evening there was a small accident at the airport. Wizz Air flight WU930 “Treviso (Italy) – Kiev” while landing rolled over the edge of the runway and turned 180 degrees. However, none of the crew members and passengers was hurt, all 153 passengers and the crew left the plane on their own.
On December 28th Boryspil was closed because of the heavy snowfall in the evening. Till lunch time on Tuesday, December 29, airport runways has been cleaned up of snow and then the registration for the flights has been resumed.
