Ukrainian Currency Hryvnia
Starting from the 1st January 2010 National Bank of Ukraine is going to seize from circulation ten and twenty hryvnia bills of 1994, 1995 and 2000. From 2010 сommercial banks in Ukraine are not going to give their clients “old” money (same with ATM), but they will be accepting these bills or also exchanging them for the new style banknotes for as long as it takes.
Alexand Zholud, an expert of monetry policy of the International Center of perspective research says, “Old style” banknotes are seized from circulation constantly. It is a technical process: the time is just up for the old style banksnotes.”
