Kyiv City Hall and the Great Patriotic War Museum is going to offer a new amusement for Kievans and tourists, who love extreme. For only 800 hryvnia you will be tied with the rope and raised to the top of the shield of the Kyiv famous Monument of the Motherland. After that you’ll be given a 21-centimeter bronze copy of the “lady with a sword” and a personal certificate, stating that you have conquered the height of 92 meters over Kiev (the height of the statue to the top of the shield). This attraction may cost you less, as a tour through several parks is included in the price of 800 grn. But you could reach the observation platform of the statue at a height of 36 meters only for 50 UAH.

It would already be possible to get to the shield this year on May 9, on Victory Day. There will be three planned stops, while climbing to the top. An elevator for three people will take you to the platform at the height of 36 meters. Then you will be taken by an inclined elevator to the top of the lady’s hand. The observation platform was open in 2002 and people could see a wondeful view of Kyiv. But in 2003 the access for tourists was limited, due to a series of accidents.
