One cold but nice evening we’ve decided to have our dinner at one of the top restaurants / night clubs in Kyiv. Being not sure about the crowd, we called to reserve a table, but they’ve turned us down saying, that it was impossible. Ok, whatever, we agreed to give it a try anyway. We’ve got there not too late and managed to get a table in the lounge area. A pretty girl was singing and aslo playing sax, creating an absolutely wonderful atmosphere. Our waiter knew his job and we’ve been anticipating a great evening.

Online map of Kyiv WCWhere to go or where to run? Ukrainian restrooms are among those complaints you hear constantly from tourists.
While Ukraine is getting ready for Euro-2012 and purchasing mobile WC booths, some great guys decided not to wait but act at least from the information point of view: they has started a very useful WC project – http://wc-kiev.org “Tell me about free toilets, save your friend from shame, and your city – from stink and unpleasant surprises in the back streets and elevators.
On the interactive map, anyone can share a public toilet he/she used or knows about. You just need to move the icon to the desired location and add a description. The creator and the author of the project is a non-profit organization “Ekolo Okolo”. Its members say that everybody who cares about the environment first of all should take care about things around themselves.

In its current form this interactive map of toilets is not quite a practical resource, so “Ekolo Okolo” plans to release a mobile version.
Some users instead of public toilets indicate parks and alleys on a map, so there is a moderator who deletes such points. Users also set cafes and restaurants on the map, so “Ekolo Okolo” activists are planning to check all of them soon to make sure that there is no problem to use their restrooms.

This interactive map is the first project of the organization, but members of the movement are already working on implementing some other ideas.
