Over 80% of Ukrainians planning to participate in presidential elections

According to a survey carried out by Research & Branding Group, 81.4% of respondents are planning to participate in the election of the Ukrainian president, according to UkrInform.

Some 59.4% of Ukrainians said they were confident they would participate in the election, and 22% said they would most likely go to the polling stations.

Over 10% of Ukrainians said they had yet to decide whether they would participate in the elections.

Over 4% said they would not participate in the elections, and 3.8% said they would most likely not participate in them.

The poll was held on August 4-14. A total of 3,011 respondents participated in the study. The poll’s margin of error does not exceed 2.2%.

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, scheduled presidential elections for January 17, 2010.
