Ukraine might introduce visa regime for EU, US, Canada and other countries
Deputies of five fractions, two from the Party of Regions and one from each party (Lytvyn Bloc, Communists Party, BUYT and NUNS) suggested Ukrainian Parliament to introduce a visa regime to enter Ukraine for citizens of EU, USA, Canada, Japan and Switzerland and some other countries.
The draft of the law # 6012 “On Amendments to the Law on Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”, which contains these proposals, was registered in Rada on January, 28.
The project assumes it should be obligatory for foreigners and stateless persons to get an entry visa to Ukraine. There could be exceptions only when the laws of Ukraine establishes another order of entry.
The purpose of the project is to impose a symmetrical visa regime with the member states of the European Union, Japan, Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, Canada, Andorra, Vatican, Iceland, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and the United States.
Thus, the authors of the project think, the state budget will again receive over 50 million U.S. dollars of consular visa fees. Moreover, the citizens of countries that have lost their right to visa-free entry to Ukraine, will have an impact on the heads of their states to liven up the work on solving an issue of liberalization of the visa regime for Ukrainians.
Please, note, that in October 2009 deputies of the Party of Regions Olena Lukash and Nestor Shufrych have already suggested Rada to cancel visa-free regime for citizens of the countries, which require entry visas for Ukrainians.
In April 2009 Ukraine was considering the possibility of initiating the visa regime for EU citizens due to the fact that the visa regime for Ukrainians has not been weakened and an agreement on simplified visa regime, which was acting for already over a year remained just a formal document.
On May 1, 2005 Ukraine introduced the visa free regime for US, EU, Canada, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Principality of Andorra, Vatican (The Holly See), the Principality of Monaco, the Republic of Iceland, the Kingdom of Norway and the Republic of San Marino citizens to enter Ukraine if the period of their stay does not exceed 90 days.

Very good! Very nice idea. I like it and I think the Ukraine parlament should vote it and make it reality, couse they dont abolish visa regime for Ukraine, so no reciprocity, its not normal.Things should be in reciprocity!
